Ballina Airport Transfers

Ballina Airport Transfers

Ballina Airport Transfers are available for all flights arriving and departing from Ballina Gateway Airport. Ballina is situated approx a 30 minute drive south of Byron Bay. Ballina Airport flights arrive from Sydney, Melbourne and Newcastle.. The airport is serviced by Qantas, Virgin, Jetstar, Rex Airways & Pelican Airlines. Ballina Airport is a small regional airport so therefore offers limit facilities that you might find in a larger airport.

Ballina Airport Transfers are available to Byron Bay and all surrounding locations such as Brunswick Heads, Mullumbimby, Lismore…. to name a few. Please note that this Ballina Airport can be a difficult airport to fly into or out of during the wet season as being a small regional it doesn’t have the all weather landing equipment that other airports do, such as the Gold Coast Airport.

When coming from Melbourne we do discourage people to fly to Ballina Airport as there is only one flight a day from Melbourne so if it is cancelled (which happens to often) you will have to wait a minimum of 24 hours before you can get another flight. If this happens on the Gold Coast its not an issue as there are 20+ flights per day between Melbourne and the Gold Coast Airport.

Note that there are only limited transportation options when you land at Ballina airport as it is a small regional airport. We do advise you to prebook your airport transfer to avoid long wait periods for airport taxi services. On average there are only 2-3 taxis at the airport at any given time which can cause delays when you have 100+ people on a plane.
